Date/Time: November 28, 2006 between 8:00 and 8:30 p.m.

Suffolk County First Squad detectives are investigating a burglary in which a 68-year-old North Babylon woman was surprised by an intruder in her home last night.

According to the victim, who was bed ridden in her Parkdale Drive residence, the lights in her house went out between 8:00 and 8:30 p.m. Moments later, she was approached by an unknown male who placed a blanket over her head. The victim was pulled from her bed and left on the floor as the intruder searched the home. Unable to move on her own, the victim lay on the floor of the darkened house until her home-health-aide arrived this morning at 8:40 a.m.

While she was not physically injured, the homeowner was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for observation. At this time it is not known what is missing from the house. Investigators interviewed numerous area residents and searched the home for evidence.

Anyone who has information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
