About this Map
This map depicts the locations of Suffolk County Department of Health Services (SCDHS) and United States Geological Survey (USGS) monitoring wells in Suffolk County. The map is not a depiction of all the SCDHS and USGS monitoring wells in Suffolk County, but a subset of wells that have had at least one water level measurement recorded in 2006. To obtain water level information from a particular monitoring well, click on the well and then click on the link that appears in the pop-up balloon. The link will direct you to the USGS’s National Water Information System website where current and historic water level information can be obtained for that particular well.
This map was developed as a tool to help those interested in obtaining information on the elevation of the groundwater table in Suffolk County. The SCDHS and USGS maintain a cooperative agreement in recording and providing water level information in Suffolk County.
