Volunteers

Volunteering at the John J. Foley Skilled Nursing Facility can be a rewarding experience for people of all ages. We accept junior volunteers as young as 14 years of age, and you need only be in good general health to qualify. We can also put together special programs for schools, civic organizations, churches, businesses and community groups.

Volunteers may choose to work with the Recreation, Nursing, or Rehabilitation Departments, assist with clerical duties, or help out in the Adult Day Health Care Program. We also encourage special group projects.

In addition to the satisfaction and fulfillment that comes from providing service to those who truly appreciate it, volunteers come to enjoy sharing the knowledge, memories, experiences and talents of our residents. We provide our volunteers with:

  • Free parking
  • Free lunch or dinner in the staff cafeteria when you volunteer three or more hours in one day
  • Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Free training

For some young people, volunteering at John J. Foley can be the first step to a career in health care. If you are interested in volunteering, call us 631-852-4415 to learn more.
