Suffolk County maintains over 420 miles of County Roads, 140 bridges, culverts and miscellaneous structures, 300 waterways and operates 730 traffic signals.

The Division's Goals
- Obtain for the County the best highway system at the least possible cost.
- Preserve, protect and improve the environment and its ecology by careful planning of all Public Works projects.
- Secure for the County the maximum benefit from the federal funds that are available for Public Works projects.
- Provide for the health, safety and welfare of the people of Suffolk County as they may relate to all Public Works projects.
