| Dinosaurs on Long Island 7:00 - 9:00pm at the Environmental Center in Islip. Although most people associate dinosaurs with distant places such as Wyoming or China, you don't have to travel far from Long Island to find dinosaur fossil fuels. The northeast has a long history of dinosaur studies and is host to rock formations that may yet answer important questions about the Mesozoic Era. Join Dr. J. Bret Bennington of Hofstra University on a tour of the history and geology of the dinosaur remains preserved in our own backyard. This program is part of the 2010 Novice Naturalist Lecture Series. Presented by the Seatuck Environmental Association. A fee of $4/members or Green Key Cardholders, $6/nonmembers will apply to all programs at the Suffolk County Environmental Center. Pre-registration is REQUIRED. Please call (631) 581-6908 to register or for more information. |
