Welcome to Suffolk County Parks

The Suffolk County Parks System is truly one which all county residents can be proud of, as it provides us with quality leisure opportunities from Montauk to Huntington. Our Parks Department manages over 46,000 acres of parkland, offering a multitude of leisure time pursuits.

  Popular activities within the Suffolk County Parks System include golfing, camping, horseback riding, swimming, hiking, fishing, outer beach (shoreline) activities, boating, or visiting one of our historic sites such as the Big Duck, an all-time favorite. 

****Please be advised that there have been rumors circulating that the Parks Department was going to close some of our camping facilities as a cost-saving measure. Please know that no such policy for closure has been approved. In fact, County Executive Steve Levy just recently announced that fees will be lowered for the 2010 year. The park operation schedule will be the same as if was for the 2009 camping season. We hope you continue to enjoy all of the recreational opportunities that Suffolk County has to offer.****

For the 2010 Camping Season there will be a new policy for generator use.  The new policy can be seen here.

Due to increased volume the 12:00 PM checkout time will be strictly enforced at Theodore Roosevelt County Park

As of January 1, 2009, the Parks will no longer be accepting any paper gift certificates as tender.  Any patron who wishes to redeem such certificates should go to the West Sayville Operations Office to verify validity of certificate and to exchange it for a gift card.
