The Land Information System (LIS) consists of albums, which are tax map descriptions of each town, and the LIS CD-ROM. The LIS is used to find the exact location of the property, the owners of the property, and tax map numbers which need to be on all documents presented at the office.
All fees associated with these items are accessible by a link below.
LIS albums are books of each town in SuffolkCounty that are made up of maps of all parcels of land in that town. There are 12 albums edited, published and are registered for copyright annually. (Brookhaven, the largest town, is presented in three volumes.) The fees associated with the licensing of the albums are listed below. You can begin your license at any time. The LIS CD-ROM is a product of SuffolkCounty collaborative government in which the Treasurer and Real Property collate the assessment rolls into a research tool provided on a CD-ROM. In a query format, information on each parcel is provided. Searches on land use, owner or tax map number are options. There are no tax map images on the CD.
